Anne-Monika von Twardowski

Born in South Africa in 1982, Anne-Monika von Twardowski had her first piano lesson in Germany at the age of six. She pursued a degree as a pianist in instrumental education and in musical arts as well as a master degree in piano performance at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. Anne-Monika studies in Barcelona as an Erasmus exchange student in 2005/2006 at the Escola Superior de Music Catalunya. Her musical training was supplemented by master classes at the Schleswig- Holstein Music Festival and at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.

From 2008 till 2018 she was the pianist of the quartet Salut Salon (www.salutsalon.com), with whom she performed worldwide. Together with Salut Salon, she received the ECHO Klassik in the category „Classic with our borders“ for their album „Carnival Fantasy“. In 2014 she set up the project „Rauschen“ (www.rschn.de) together with the cellist Sonja Lena Schmid, a project that combines classical chamber music with live electronics, and worked with well-known artists from the electronic scene, such as Gebrüder Teichmann, Gordian and MimiCof. At the Berlin University of Popular Arts she worked as a guest lecturer for stage coaching. In 2015 she was named Ehren-Alster-Schleusenwärterin (honorary guard of the canal locks in the Alster lake) - an award for sons and daughters of Hamburg woh have earned the privilege to serve as ambassadors for their city.
